Shillong, Jan 12: Meghalaya defeated Nagaland by nine wickets on the second day of their U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy match in Tezpur today.

Resuming on 96/3 in response to Nagaland’s first innings score of 171, Meghalaya were bowled out for 198, giving them a lead of 27 runs.

Nagaland started the day well by dismissing Meghalaya’s top scorer Divyansh Rajput (47) early, after he added only four runs to his overnight score. A handy 33 not out by Aryan Borah towards the end of the innings ensure Meghalaya a small lead.

Aaron Nongrum then ripped through the Nagaland lineup, taking 6/24, while Borah scalped 4/8 (match figures of 8/79) as Nagaland were skittled for 48.

That left Meghalaya just 22 to win and they crossed the line in just 3.1 overs with 25 on the board. Chirag Tyagi smashed 23 runs off just 10 deliveries, with three fours and a six.
