Shillong, Jan 25: Delayed by 10 months due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Shillong Cricket Association’s 2019-20 season was restarted yesterday with the first semifinal between Rangkynsai and Sunrise in the First Division.
Rangkynsai won the toss and chose to field first. They then dismissed Sunrise for 137 in 34.2 overs. Krishna Chettri scored 39 and Solu Momin 25. For Rangkynsai, man-of-the-match Mackie Blah (pictured left) claimed 4/30 and Sanjay Lyngdoh 3/37.
In reply Rangkynsai made 140/8 in 31.3 overs. Pankaj Yadav went better than a run-a-ball for his 32 off 26 deliveries, while Pynhun Kharnarbi struck a more sedate but still valuable 30 off 74. Aryan Bora took the best figures for Sunrise, with 3/17, while Basu Chettri returned figures of 2/28.
