Shillong, Apr 10: KRYPHSA secured top spot in the Indian Women’s League with a 5-0 victory over Gokulam Kerala in the last league stage match of the competition at the JN Stadium here today.
Victory means that KRYPHSA jumped two places from third, displacing fellow Manipur team Eastern Sporting Union from first place. Both clubs have 14 points, but KRYPHSA are way ahead in terms of goal difference (+21 compared to +6). The two sides had played out a 1-1 draw on 4th April.
KRYPHSA have been prolific scorers, producing an average of 4 goals per game for a total of 24, while conceding the fewest at just 3.
Bala Devi produced four goals today, scoring in the 6th, 43rd, 45+2 and 60th minutes. Dangmei Grace scored the other goal, following a deflection, in the 25th.
KRYPHSA will face Rising Student Club in the semifinal stage, while Eastern Sporting will lock horns with Sethu FC. Both last-four games are slated for Thursday.
