Shillong, Jun 24: Goals from Iakmenlang Khongjee and Figo Syndai saw Langsning beat Shillong Lajong 2-1 in the U-18 Shillong Premier League here yesterday.
Khongjee put last year’s runners-up into the lead in the 43rd minute with Langsning’s maiden first half goal this season before Lajong equalised in the second half via Apborlang Kurbah (63rd). Figo Syndai, last season’s second-highest scorer, then provided the winner in the 76th minute for Langsning’s latest goal in a match this year.
Langsning are the only team after four rounds to have scored in every one of their matches and they and Rangdajied United are the only two sides to remain unbeaten and both have eight points each, though RUFC are in first place thanks to a better goal difference (+8 to +3). Lajong, who were leading after three rounds, are now in third place on seven points.
In 2017’s U-18 SPL Langsning were the only club to beat SLFC, coming from behind to win 3-2. They also topped the league stage of the competition before falling in a close final to Lajong 1-0.
Tomorrow it’ll be Malki versus Nangkiew Irat at 3:45PM.
