Shillong, Jul 26: A goal in each half saw Smit pick up their first full three points of the First Division in a 2-0 victory over Nongkrem here today.
Readytone Nongbri produced the opening goal in the 16th minute and exactly an hour later Wankhraw Nengnong doubled the margin for Smit with the second goal.
Direct entrants Smit now have four points after two rounds; they played out a goalless draw against Wahingdoh in their opening fixture.
Meanwhile, despite scoring three goals in their exciting 3-3 opener against Laban last week, Nongkrem were unable to find the mark today.
The final match of the second round will be played tomorrow between Wahingdoh and Marbisu at 4PM.
