Shillong, Aug 29: To commemorate National Sports Day, the Sports Department of North-Eastern Hills University organised the NEHU Inter College Cross Country Run for men and women for affiliated colleges and the Cross Country Run 2018 for teachers, non-teaching staff and university students on the NEHU campus here today.
All in all, 120 people took part in the run.
In the inter-college run, St Anthony’s College won in both the men’s and women’s events. Nongstoin College were runners-up in the men’s and Shillong College runners-up in the women’s.
National Sports Day is held every 29th August on the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Dhyan Chand.
Meanwhile, the Border Security Force organised a friendly volleyball match today in Mawpat. The match was played between Meghalaya Frontier BSF and Assam Regiment in which the latter won the match by two sets to one.
