Shillong, May 9: Two Meghalaya women cricketers – Deiphibapynshngain L Mawnai and Dasanbaniewkor Wahlang – have been selected for a zonal camp run by the National Cricket Academy, the Meghalaya Cricket Association said today.
The camp for U-19 women will be held in Bhubaneshwar from 13th May to 6th June.
Both Mawnai and Wahlang have represented Meghalaya at the U-19 and U-23 levels. They are promising bowlers, with Mawnai taking six wickets for Meghalaya in the Women’s U-19 T20 League and Wahlang five.
Last year Mawnai had been selected for the New Area Development Programme (NADP)/Bihar zonal cricket academy team that took part in an inter-zonal one-day tournament for U-19 women.
