Shillong, May 20: Nangkiew Irat won their second consecutive match of the U-18 Shillong Premier League 2019 season 3-1 against Laban at Third Ground, Polo, here today.
This was also the same margin that Nangkiew beat Marbisu by in the opening match of the season last Monday.
The first goal came in the 21st minute when Laban goalkeeper Aibanlambha Suchiang blocked a ball heading his way, but the rebound fell to Nangkiew’s Iainehskhem Kharkrang, who scored from close range.
Laban found the equaliser eight minutes later when a good run up the left led to a cross into the box. Denis Laitmon was beaten to the ball by Laban’s Solomon Shullai, who punted the ball into the net, giving him his second goal in straight games.
Both Suchiang and his opposite number Pynteilem Mane Thangkiew made a good save each in the minutes that followed, but Nangkiew went into the break with the lead after Mario Shanpru scored in the 44th minute.
Nangkiew strengthened their grip on the lead in the second half and found another goal in the 63rd minute, leaving Laban with no way back.
Tomorrow Marbisu are scheduled to take on Smit at 3:45PM.
