Shillong, Jun 8: The girls of East Jaintia Hills (feature photo) and boys of East Khasi Hills (pictured below) won the State-Level Chief Minister’s U-12 Football Tournament finals at the JN Stadium here today.
In the early match, East Jaintia Hills defeated West Khasi Hills 3-0, with Filicia Sympli (18′, 23′) and Marsanki Kya (39′) the scorers.

In the boys’ final that followed East Khasi Hills held on to their trophy with a 1-0 victory over Ri-Bhoi.
Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh was the chief guest at the closing ceremony in the presence of Director of Sports & Youth Affairs Wanri Booth and other officials.

Girls’ awards:
Most Promising Player – Bonifilia Shullai (East Khasi Hills)
Best Goalkeeper – Deimonme Lyngdoh (East Jaintia Hills)
Player of the Tournament – Filicia Sympli (East Jaintia Hills)
Boys’ awards:
Most Promising Player – Eddiesius Kharkongor (East Khasi Hills)
Best Goalkeeper – Banshailang Kharjana (East Khasi Hills)
Player of the Tournament – Nehimaiah Warbah (East Khasi Hills)
