Shillong, Jun 21: Ryntih and Mawkhar claimed victory in their respective U-18 Shillong Premier League matches here today.
At the JN Stadium Ryntih defeated bottom side Lawsohtun 2-1, while Mawkhar were 3-0 winners over Marbisu at Third Ground.
Lamphrang Pyngrope (pictured centre) scored for Ryntih in the third and 32nd minutes, on either side of the sending off of Lawsohtun’s first choice goalkeeper.
Lawsohtun got a late goal back in the 86th minute via Freddy Rani, who scored off a scintillating long-range direct free-kick.
This was Ryntih’s second win and it puts them in ninth place on seven points, one ahead of Nongkrem, who have a match in hand.
Meanwhile Mawkhar scored early on through Banehskhem Khongsdam in the sixth minute but they had to wait until the second half before they got their other goals, which were both scored by Aenam Jyrwa (54’, 67’).
Mawkhar now have 16 points, as many as first-placed Langsning but behind the latter on goal difference (+22 to +17).
Tomorrow Shillong Lajong are scheduled to face Nangkiew Irat at 3:45PM at Third Ground.
