Shillong, Jul 8: Friends United, Mawkhan, won the 12th AS Khongphai Memorial U-16 Football Tournament 1-0 over Nangiaikiew FC, Mawklot, in the final on Saturday.
Sixteen teams took part in the tournament, which was organised by the Upper Shillong Sports, Social & Cultural Association at Umlyngka Football Ground.
The lone goal in the final was scored by Arnester Kharphuli via a penalty in the first half.
The chief guest at the final was Urban Affairs Minister Hamletson Dohling and the guest of honour was Ronnie Lyngdoh MDC.
Individual awards:
Best Manager: Rafael Rapsang (Nangiaikiew FC, Mawklot)
Best Disciplined Team: Lamjingshai United (Laimer)
Best Goalkeeper: Comingstar Kharthangmaw (Tyllilang FC, Lumpdeng)
Top Scorer: Sion Kharjana (Ri Khasi FC, Umlyngka)
Best Player: Arnestar Kharphuli (Friends United, Mawkhan)
