Shillong, Aug 10: Umphyrnai came from two goals to one down to defeat Lumshyiap 3-2 in a thrilling Second Division Group A match at Third Ground, Polo, today.
Lumshyiap claimed the lead in the 34th minute via S Makri and his team led 1-0 going into the half time break. R Khongjoh equalised for Umphyrnai in the 63rd minute, but L Mynsong put Lumshyiap back into the lead just four minutes later.
Umphyrnai then stormed into a winning position with late goals from M Wanswett (77′) and a second by Khongjoh (85′) to send their fans into raucous cheers.
Umphyrnai now have nine points from four games, while Lumshyiap are stuck on one point from three outings.
On Monday, in Group B, Riatsamthiah are scheduled to face Wahingdoh at 3:15PM.
