Shillong, Feb 4: It was a low-scoring start to Meghalaya’s Ranji Trophy match against Sikkim in Mangaldai, Assam, today, with 16 wickets falling on the first day.
Meghalaya won the toss and opted to bat first, but were bowled out for 174 by tea. Guest-professional Punit Bisht top-scored with 84 while Sanjay Yadav made 40.
In their first innings reply Sikkim were on 105/6 at stumps.
Abhay Negi claimed 4/32 while Dipu Sangma took 2/10 as Sikkim concluded the day’s play still 69 runs behind with four wickets in hand.
