Shillong, Mar 6: Meghalaya rode to an eight-wicket victory over Arunachal Pradesh in the U-19 Women’s One-Day Trophy in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, today.
Arunachal won the toss and chose to bat but were restricted to 120/5 in 50 overs, with Sistalin Ryntathiang (pictured left) finishing with the best figures of the day – 3/25 in 10 overs. Ankita Sharma was the other wicket-taker (1/16) and two of the wickets to fall came about thanks to catches taken by Monica Phawa.
In the chase Rubi Chetri (pictured right) carried her bat to finish with 58 not out, with seven boundaries, and she saw out the target in the company of Sanchisa Sangma, who finished on 17 not out, as Meghalaya made 122/2 in exactly 40 overs.
