Shillong, Jul 18: In a major financial boost to the two Manipur I-League clubs, NEROCA and TRAU will both receive Rs 50 lakh from the Manipur government ahead of the 2020-21 I-League season, the former said today.
In addition, KRYPHSA, who play in the Indian Women’s League, will also receive “a significant amount”, NEROCA said on social media.
NEROCA made their I-League debut in 2017-18 and finished runners-up to Minerva Punjab but haven’t been able to replicate that level of success in the subsequent two seasons. TRAU were promoted to the I-League last season and finished sixth (ahead of NEROCA in ninth). KRYPHSA, meanwhile, were runners-up earlier this year in the IWL to Gokulam Kerala.
