Shillong, Aug 13: The Meghalaya government will leave the decision to reopen gymnasiums and yoga or aerobics centres up to the Deputy Commissioners of the respective districts in the state, it was announced today.
“Deputy Commissioners of the respective districts have been authorised to take the decisions and issue the notifications,” Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong (pictured right) said here today.
Gyms and other sporting/recreational infrastructure have been largely shut in the state since the second half of March.
Districts have issued notices on the resumption of training activities and conduct of non-contact sports, but organised sporting activity has largely been flat-lined by the onslaught of coronavirus.
