Shillong, Oct 17: Samuel Lyngdoh Kynshi will be making the transition from Shillong Lajong to Real Kashmir colours ahead of the I-League 2020-21 season, Lajong announced today.

Kynshi has played in 24 I-League matches for Lajong, having made his debut on 27th November 2017 as a substitute in the first match of that season against Gokulam Kerala in Shillong. He went on to score the first of his five I-League goals in the very next match when he came on as a substitute to score against Churchill Brothers thus becoming the youngest Lajong scorer in the I-League.

He also made history by becoming the first player from Meghalaya to score five I-League goals while playing for SLFC.

In youth competitions, Kynshi was also part of the Lajong squad that won the 2017-18 U-18 Youth League (now known as the Elite League).

Last year he scored nine goals in his side’s Shillong Premier League and Meghalaya State League triumphs. He was subsequently loaned to Kerala Blasters’ reserves team to take part in the Second Division League, which was interrupted by the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.

Kynshi has also represented the Meghalaya team and featured in the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports’ national football championship.
