Shillong, Feb 9: The Meghalaya Cricket Association named a 15-member squad that will represent the state in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy, India’s domestic one day cricket tournament.
The 2020-21 season will begin on 20th February in Tamil Nadu, though the fixtures have not been released by the BCCI as yet.
The squad is exactly the same as that which played for Meghalaya in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tourney, except for the inclusion of Shaisngi Lyngdoh and Riboklang Hynniewta in place of Anish Charak and Shellingstar Thabah.
Guest-professional Punit Bisht will continue to captain the side, while Dippu Sangma (the first ever tribal cricketer from the state to hit a Ranji Trophy century, which he did last season) will serve as vice-captain.
The squad will undergo a coaching and conditioning camp here from tomorrow until their depart on 12th February.
