Shillong, Apr 15: The Meghalaya Cricket Association began a Level O coaching course for affiliated districts today at the MCA Cricket Ground here.

The course, which will run until 17th April, has been split between two zones – Zone 1 for Khasi-Jaintia Hills and Ri-Bhoi and Zone 2 for Garo Hills. A total of 44 participants are undertaking this course across both zones.

The resource persons conducting the course are Leonard Wankhar as Convenor and BCCI Level 1 coach and other National Cricket Academy Level 1 coaches, which include Sudesh Pradhan, Synrapsing Riatham, Sengam Momin, Moisten Marak and Biswajeet Das Gupta, who have been assigned by the MCA.

MCA Honorary Secretary Gideon Kharkongor inaugurated the course and called on the participants to take up coaching in a professional manner so that cricket can be developed in all districts of the state. He urged the participants to do well in the course as the BCCI will shortly organise the Level 1 for Meghalaya by the end of the month as communicated by NCA Director Rahul Dravid.
