Shillong, Apr 27: Four youngsters from Meghalaya have been selected by I-League side Chennai City to join the club’s residential academy programme in Coimbatore, it was revealed today.
The four – Mewan Khrawnam Rynjah (14), Japanlung Panmei (15), Nangtei Banshembha Kharbyngar (13), Wanphgrang Dame Phawa (12) – are products of Kick Start Football Coaching Centre.
They have been awarded three-year scholarships by Chennai City, who are former I-League champions.
The boys will join the academy in June, Kick Start announced on Facebook today. Hopefully, the Covid-19 situation will ease by then and not hamper their journey.
