Shillong, Oct 22: Rishika Muralidhar held on to her lead to finish as the winner of the 2021 North East India Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship, which concluded at the Shillong Golf Course today.
Final days at a golf event are always exciting and that was also the case on the third and final day here.
Muralidhar had an overall score of 16 over across three days of the tournament. Finishing as the runner-up Smriti Bhargava from New Delhi, who was consistent in all three rounds by shooting 6 over on all three days to end with a total score of 18 over.
Meanwhile, in Category B Girls, Saanvi Somu from Karnataka showed her grit by shooting 8 over on all three days to win the Category B Girls Championship with a over all score of 24 over.
The Indian Golf Union thanked the Department of Sports for its support provided to the players and organisers during the entire course of the event, as well as the sponsors – Oil India, Incredible India and IDFC.
