Shillong, Dec 20: Assam and Mizoram won the women’s and men’s divisions respectively of the Senior National Basketball Championship’s North East zonal round here yesterday.
The two winning states will participate in the 71st Senior National Basketball Championship in Chennai from January 23.
The final day of the zonals in Shillong saw Assam win the three-team women’s category by overwhelming Meghalaya 104-51.
In the men’s division, Manipur cruised to a 126-33 win over Tripura. Meghalaya then lost to Nagaland by just three points, 73 to 70, while Mizoram had an easy outing against Assam to win 85-68.
