Shillong, Dec 23: Six United were acclaimed as champions of Mawten SC’s 6th Invitation Football Tournament by defeating Sehlung FC 1-0 in the final yesterday.
The final was held at the Mawpyllun Mini Stadium. This was the final of the 2019-20 edition of the tournament, the end of which was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
As champions, Six United were awarded Rs 3.1 lakh in prize money. Sehlung took home Rs 1.4 lakh as runners-up.
Robert Khongjoh scored the winning goal in extra time after 90 minutes ended goalless.
