Shillong, Jan 28: Umphrup were denied victory by a late goal from Laitkor in Group B of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division at Third Ground, Polo, here today. The match ended 1-1.
Shanmeiaki Warlarpih (32′) put Umphrup in front but Risuklang Malngiang equalised in the 85th minute for Laitkor. Malngiang became the first player with two goals to his name in the Second Division this year, having also scored against Laitkyrhong last week.
Laitkor had won their opening match, while Umphrup were involved in a draw in theirs. That game had also ended 1-1 and had also seen Umphrup take a first half lead before having to split points with Nongkrem.
