Shillong, Jan 31: North Eastern Police Academy defeated Raj Bhavan by 33 runs in the final of the Shillong Cricket Association’s Second Division at here today.

Both sides had already secured promotion to next year’s Super Division by qualifying for the final.

NEPA won the toss and batted first but, in a low scoring contest, were bowled out for 108 in 19.1 overs.

Manikant Sinha top-scored with 29 from 40 deliveries, while Daba Waiba claimed 4/18 and Tarok Sinha 4/19.

In reply, Raj Bhavan were rolled over for just 75 in 18.2 overs.

Sunil Yadav had an entertaining cameo where he struck 21 off just 10 balls but NEPA’s performance in the field was just too strong. Subrata Sinha claimed 3/15, while Manikant took 2/11.

Manikant was adjudged man-of-the-match and was also the man-of-the-series.

The champions’ trophy was handed over to NEPA by SCA President Peter M Kharsawian.
