Shillong, Feb 5: Nongkrem edged Laitkyrhong 1-0 in Group B of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division at Third Ground, Polo, here today.
With this win, secured by a 27th minute goal from Pynshai Kharsyntiew, Nongkrem returned to the top of the group. They now have seven points from three games, two ahead of Umphrup, who drop down into second spot.
Kharsyntiew’s goal was the 40th of the division this season.
Laitkyrhong have just 1 point from three outings, but they’re still ahead of Wahingdoh, who have yet to get off the mark.
