Shillong, Mar 24: Aiborlang Khongjee will coach Rangdajied United in this season’s Shillong Premier League, TSR has learnt.

The 34-year-old last played for Rangdajied in the 2019 SPL and that year’s Meghalaya State League where the club finished as runners-up in both competitions to Shillong Lajong.

Khongjee takes over from long-time RUFC gaffer Khlain Syiemlieh. As far as TSR knows, this will be his first major coaching role.

A former India international, Khongjee has played for various clubs across the country, namely Shillong Lajong, East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, NorthEast United, Mumbai City and ATK (before they merged with Bagan).

Over the last few years Rangdajied have been, at best, runners-up, with their only SPL title coming all the way back in 2013.
