Shillong, Apr 18: Laitkor became the first team to win a match in the new Shillong Sports Association’s Women’s League by beating Onside Sports 5-1 at Third Ground, Polo, here today.
The tournament got underway today. Matches are of 60 minutes’ duration.
The 1PM kickoff saw Ribahunshisha Kharshiing (29′, 42′, 45′, 47′) score a hat-trick in the Group A fixture. Ilenaki Laloo (33′) scored the other goal for Laitkor, while Makrisha Songthiang (58′) scored a consolation goal for Onside Sports.
In the 3:30PM kickoff, Nongkrem and Nongkohlew played out a 1-1 draw in Group B. Na-i-sha Nongrum (30′) scored for Nongkrem and Ephisha Thangkhiew (55′) managed to equalise late in the day for Nongkohlew.
