Shillong, Jul 8: The District Level Inter-School Subroto Mukherjee Cup for South West Khasi Hills concluded yesterday at Mawkyrwat.
Lyngdoh Wanniang Secondary School of Marshilong emerged as champions of the U-17 girls’ event after beating Rangthong Christian Higher Secondary School 2-1 in the final.
The U-14 boys’ final went down to the wire, with Jakrem Presbyterian HSS winning 4-3 via a tiebreaker against Mawlieh Upper Primary School.
Finally, Balang Mawlangwir HSS came through 2-0 over Mawjarain Presbyterian UPS in the U-17 boys’ final.
The champion teams will represent the district at the upcoming state-level Subroto Cup.
Present on the final day were cabinet minister and Mawkyrwat MLA Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar, Superintendent of Police Bashan J Laloo and District Sports Officer Damang Syngkon.
