Shillong, Sep 25: The East Khasi Hills District Badminton Association won 14 out of 16 events at the Meghalaya State Badminton Championship, which concluded in Tura yesterday.

West Jaintia Hills prevented a clean sweep by claiming the remaining two titles. EKH also claimed a majority of the silver medals, though there were several for WJH, East Garo Hills, West Khasi Hills and Young Talents Badminton Club of Mawlai as well.

The four-day event began on 21st September. This was only the second time that Tura played host to the state championship and came after a gap of more than 25 years.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma was present on the final day to hand out the prizes.
