Shillong, Nov 4: Lamang Kynsai Kharbuli, a 14-year-old goalkeeper, has been signed by Hyderabad FC for their U-15 team.
The goalkeeper is a product of Shillong’s PFR Academy, with whom he’s been since 2018.
“PFR has been supporting me since the beginning and all the coaches have played a big part in getting me to Hyderabad,” Kharbuli said. “I’m happy to get into such a big team and I want to work hard to get into the senior team and then Indian team.”
The Lawsohtun resident has signed a two-year contract with Hyderabad and will leave for the southern city next week.
PFR president Franky Kharumnuid noted how Kharbuli was identified by his coaches as one player who would train rain or shine and thoroughly deserves this opportunity.
Rilang Mylliempdah, secretary of PFR, expressed the academy’s pride in Kharbuli’s success. He added that PFR has been undertaking exposure tours outside the state for their young players in order to give them as much experience as possible.
