Shillong, Feb 17: Nongdawah CC and Sohra Combine CC won their respective matches on the sixth day of the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 2nd District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2023 today.
In the first match, Nongdawah won the toss and decided to bat first against Laitjem CC. Bhaboklang Nongpluh top-scored with 26 from 23 deliveries as his team were all out for 105 in 18.4 overs. Mebanshan Kharsati took 2/17 for Laitjem.
In reply, Player of the Match Nangshai Nongpluh ripped through the Laitjem battling line-up to claim figures of 5/18 in 3.5 overs, while Kyrmenskhem Nongpluh took 2/14. Marken B Kharkongor contributed 22 from 21 balls but Laitjem were bundled out for 61 in 16.5 overs to give Nondawah victory by 44 runs.
Later, Cricket Smit chose to bat first on winning the toss against Sohra Combine and were restricted to 127/6 in 20 overs. Shankupar Kharbyngar hit 45 from just 35 deliveries while Shanborlang Kharshiing took 2/10 in 4 overs.
The chase went very well for Sohra Combine, with Mangakara Diengdoh leading the way with 64 smashed from 31 balls and he was subsequently named Player of the Match. Sohra Combine lost five wickets but chased down the target in 15.5 overs. Raymond Thabah claimed 2/25 in a losing cause.
