Shillong, Feb 25: Nongdawah CC and Sohra Combine CC won their respective matches on the 13th day of the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 2nd District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2023 today.
In the first match, Nongdawah won the toss and batted first against Friends United CC, making 145/6 in 20 overs. Player of the Match Wankitlang Nongpluh (49) just missed out on a half-century while Maialang War made 37. Nangkiewkor Moore Don bagged a hat-trick to finish with figures of 4/32.
Friends United were unable to come close enough to the target, as they were dismissed for 98 in 17.2 overs. Ernestin Kyntiewbor Swer top-scored with a fine 51 from 33 deliveries, however, while Kyrmenskhem Nongpluh (3/9) and Moonlight War (2/8) performed well for the bowling side.
Later, Sohra Combine made a colossal 163/6 in their 20 overs after choosing to bat first on winning the toss against Lumpaia Avengers CC. Jona Lyngdoh Nonglait produced a run-a-ball 38 and Pherson Diengdoh 32 from 28. Orlando Nongbri scalped 2/32.
Lumpaia Avengers made a good go of the chase but finished short by 25 runs on 138/7. Ralphy Heinrich Diengdoh top-scored with 35 from 20 balls, while Player of the Match Ferdinand Lyngdoh snatched 3/9 in just 2 overs.
