Shillong, Apr 2: The final of the Shillong Cricket League’s Super Division will be contested by Sputnik and Rangkynsai, it was confirmed today.
Yesterday, Rangkynsai defeated Nongmynsong in the first semifinal and today Sputnik hammered Meghalaya Police by 83 runs in the second contest at Polo Ground here.
Sputnik won the toss and batted first, making 180/7 in a reduced 25 overs, at a run rate of 7.20 per over. They got there thanks to the fantastic batting of Mark Ingty (pictured), who struck 87 from 81 deliveries, and Aditya Singhania, who bludgeoned 43 from just 23. For MLP, the bowlers with the best figures were Morningstar Khongwir (3/25) and Johnswat Marak (2/20).
In reply, the cops were rolled over for 97 in 22.4 overs, with Pankaj Roy top scoring with 22. Saurav Sharma (3/18) and Aryan Bora (2/15) were the most successful bowlers.
Ingty was named Player of the Match.
