Shillong, Jun 25: Benris FC defeated Mawpat SC 8-3 in the fourth match of the Knockout Football Tournament organised by Ri Khasi SCSC yesterday at Madan Kurkalang, Bhoirymbong.
Living Nongrang scored as many as five goals for the winners, picking up the first goal in the 26th minute.
However, Mawpat came back with a brace by Donal Suting (33′, 37′), while Andy Lapang (35′) scored around about the same time for Benris and the first half ended all square at 2-2.
The game changed completely in the second session, with Nongrang (52′, 62′, 71′, 77′) adding four more goals, Arnesius Marwein (46′) one and Oresterwell Langshiang (80′) one. Akor Suting pulled one back for Mawpat in the 86th minute but the match was too far gone by that point.
The next fixture will take place on 1st July between Nongkwar FC and Galaxy Junior FC.
