Shillong, Aug 23: Mawkriah West SC and Umrynjah SC won their respective matches in the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2023 at First Ground, Polo, here today by 1-0 margins.
Mawkriah West’s match was in Group D against Laitkroh SC, while Umrynjah’s was in Group A versus Lumpyngngad SC.
The Group D game had been scheduled for 14th August but was only partially completed on that day due to bad weather. Today saw the remaining 25 minutes played but there was no addition to Damutskhem Nongbri’s 24th minute goal for Mawkriah West.
This was Mawkriah West’s first win after two draws and takes them to the top of Group D with 5 points.
In the other match, Keeperstar Lyngdoh scored in the 35th to give Group A leaders Umrynjah their third win on the trot and without conceding a goal.
