Junior National Footy C’ship: Meghalaya pummel J&K to rise to 2nd place

Shillong, Sep 8: Meghalaya defeated Jammu & Kashmir 4-0 in Group B of the Junior National Football Championship for the BC Roy Trophy in Bhubaneshwar today.

The win, following a narrow defeat to West Bengal two days ago, means that Meghalaya are now second in the group with a game to go.

Meghalaya dominated from the off today, scoring via Pynshailang L Nonglait (17′), Mebanlamlynti Masharing (40′), Samewon Khonglah (48′) and Alicestar Thangkhiew (68′) under the tutelage of coach Jeffrey Warlarpih.

Meghalaya’s next and final group match will be against Kerala on Sunday.
