Shillong, Sep 10: Meghalaya were unable to progress to the semifinals of the Boys’ Junior National Football Championship for the BC Roy Trophy after their last Group B match ended in a 1-1 draw against Kerala in in Bhubaneshwar today.

Bantiplang Khongnoh (23′) put Meghalaya into the lead before Kerala’s Ummer Afaf Ca (49′) equalised early in the second half.

Meghalaya and Kerala finished on 4 points each but Meghalaya were in front on goals scored (7 to 5) as the goal difference of both sides was equal on +3.

Meghalaya were also unable to progress out of the group stage in the Boys’ Sub-Junior NFC but the girls’ sub-junior team did and they will play their semifinal against Jharkhand in Amritsar on Monday morning.
