Shillong, Nov 19: Rangdajied United FC kept their hopes alive in the All India Football Federation’s Third Division League (also know as I-League 3) with a 1-0 victory over Jeppiaar Institute of Technology FC of Pondicherry in Goa today.
The single goal in the Group C match came off the right boot of Knerktilang Buam in the 66th minute through a thundering strike taken miles from the box.
RUFC now have 7 points from three games and remain unbeaten.
Rangdajied’s last and final group game will be against hosts Dempo SC on Tuesday at 3:30PM.
The Meghalaya club are currently at the top of the standings but have played more matches than anyone else. Dempo will play their third game later today against Kickstart FC of Bangalore.
It’s these two teams plus Rangdajied who are the only ones capable of qualifying for the next round and the competition is very tight.
