Shillong, Feb 2: Shillong Lajong FC have an uphill climb as they dropped to the bottom of Group C in the All India Football Federation’s U-17 Youth League after losing to Harisinga Town Club of Assam 1-0 in Kokrajhar today.
Lajong had drawn their opening fixture 2-2 with NorthEast United FC in Guwahati last Saturday before playing out a 3-3 draw with Manipur’s Football 4 Change Academy at home on Monday.
As a result, SLFC have just 2 points from three games. Aizawl FC are currently on top with 7, followed by NorthEast United on 5, F4CA on 4 and Harisanga, who now have 3 points, though they have played an extra game.
Today’s only goal was scored by Harisinga’s Rubilal Basumatary in the 70th minute, soon after Lajong had made their second substitution.
Lajong will now return home to face Aizawl on Sunday at 11AM at First Ground, Polo.
