Shillong, Mar 17: Braces from R Shabong and Donlad Diengdoh ensured that Jaguar FC came from two goals to one behind to beat Lumkynsai FC 4-2 in the first semifinal of the 2nd Shortimai Knockout Football Tournament in Smit yesterday.

Shabong scored his first in the 30th minute of the thrilling match but 10 minutes later veteran Marlangki Suting equalised.

The first half ended 1-1 but Marlangki converted a penalty early in the second session to put Lumkynsai’s nose out in front.

The Jaguars, though, fought hard to equalise and did so in the 50th minute through Donlad. Shabong put his team back into the lead in the 64th minute via a penalty brought on by a handball and Donlad then made it 4-2 in the 76th minute.

Shabong was named Player of the Match and received his award from Syntem Kamwamut Nengnong, the Sports Secretary of the Seng Samla Smit Pyllun.

The second semifinal will take place on 23rd March between Ehrngiew FC and Mihpli United at 1PM. The final will then be held a week after that on 30th March.
