Shillong, Mar 24: Rohit Yadav and Nangsanshaphrang Kynter (pictured left and right) batted their teams – Cricket Lovers CC and Hurdles CC – to resounding victories in the 3rd East Khasi Hills Cricket Association District League in Smit yesterday.
While Cricket Lovers hammered Thynroit CC by 227 runs, Hurdles were victorious by 96 against Marbisu CC.
In the first match, Player of the Match Rohit blazed his way to 101 from 55 balls while team mate Muksodul Choudhary hit at an even faster rate for 71 from 29 as Cricket Lovers posted 248/1 in their allotted 20 overs, a run rate of 12.40, after winning the toss and choosing to bat first. The only wicket to fall was taken by Dalumbor Kharpran (1/44 in 4 overs).
In reply, Thynroit were brushed aside and were all out for just 21 in 6.1 overs. Rai Kishor Yadav bowled 1 over and took a double wicket maiden.
Later, Hurdles also won the toss and chose to bat first. Going only slightly more slowly than Cricket Lovers, they put up 199/4 in 20 overs, with Nangsan top scoring with 95 from 60 deliveries, while Sandy Stone Kharshandy clubbing 39 from 19.
In response, Marbisu were restricted to 103/5 with Shalenbor Kurbah hitting a run-a-ball 22. Ricket Stone Nongbet bagged 2/12 in 4 overs but Nangsan was understandably named Player of the Match.
