Shillong, Mar 26: Heavy rain ensured that only one match in the 3rd East Khasi Hills Cricket Association District League could take place in Smit today, with Laitjem CC defeating Thangsning CC by seven wickets.
This was the first scheduled match of the day. The other, between Sohra Combine CC and Thynroit CC had to be abandoned, with both sides sharing points.
Thangsning won the toss and decided on having a bat first but were restricted to 74/9 in 14 overs. Khrawkupar Kharumnuid was the bright spot with 31 from 37 balls, while Laitjem’s Antony Pathaw (3/15 in 3 overs) and Manchester Pathaw (3/16 in 3) did the majority of the damage with the ball.
In reply, Laitjem required just 12.4 overs to make 75/3. Player of the Match Poilangson Thawmuit (pictured) top-scored with a rapid 30 from 18 deliveries.
