Shillong, Apr 27: STCC Pongtung Lioness and Mawsynram Pink Panthers both batted superbly on a high scoring day in the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s U-17 Girls Inter Zonal Cricket Tournament 2024 in Smit yesterday.
The Pink Panthers won the toss and chose to field first but Dawanshisha Warlarpih of STCC Pongtung smashed 89 from 74 deliveries as her team posted a mammoth 174/4 in 20 overs.
Mawsynram were then only 29 runs short of the Lionesses’ score, being bowled out for 145 in 16.2 overs. Eliza Lyngdoh top-scored with 42 from 49, while Dawanshisha (pictured) bagged 2/15 in 3 overs and she was named Player of the Match as well.
