Shillong, Sep 4: Meghalaya qualified for the quarterfinals of the U-17 boys’ Subroto Cup with their third win on the trot in Group F in New Delhi today.

Up against Bihar, the Meghalaya boys won 5-0 and now wait to see who their last-eight opponents will be.

Banganson (13′, 45′), Mebanlamlynti (32′, 35′) and Pynshai (56′) scored the goals today.

Meghalaya are being represented at the national-level tournament by Mynken Christian Higher Secondary School of Ri-Bhoi, which won the state-level Subroto Cup in July.

Meghalaya had defeated Chandigarh yesterday and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu on Monday for a perfect 9 points.

According to the published schedule, Meghalaya will face the winner of Group E in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Group E, however, has five teams and its games will conclude only on Friday.
