Shillong, Sep 30: There were 15 goals scored in two Group B games of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2024 at First Ground, Polo, here today.
Mylliem Lum SC first took down Laitlyngkot SC 5-2 with Arbunsing Warjri netting a hat-trick. Jongksha SC then pummelled PFR Academy 6-2.
Arubunsing scored in the 26th, 34th and 88th minutes (only the third hat-trick of the season), with team mates Eliastar Nongsiej (50′) and Lesterwel Khyriem (89′) adding one each. Bottom side Laitlyngkot found the back of the net twice, through Restorewell Marbaniang (32′) and Melambha Shabong (70′).
Later, Iohbor Nonglyer (25′, 54′) and Donboklang Lyngdoh (39′, 49′) both produced a brace each, while Robert Khongjoh (63′) and Basuklang Bina (85′) added to PFR’s pain. The latter scored via Franky Shabong (45’+2) and Malvernly Lyngkhoi (68′).
Iohbor, Donboklang, Robert and Basuklang all have four goals each for Jongksha, with Basuklang scoring once in each of his club’s four matches.
Nongkrem SC, Jongksha and Mylliem Lum all have 9 points each now, with Nongkrem holding a game in hand. Nongkrem also have head-to-head advantage over Jongksha, who, in turn, have head-to-head advantage over Mylliem Lum. Nongkrem and Mylliem Lum are yet to meet.
