Shillong, Oct 7: Mylliem Lum SC smashed Lumshyiap SC 5-0 in Group B of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2024 at First Ground, Polo, here today.
The other match, also in Group B, saw PFR Academy come from a goal behind to win 2-1 against bottom side Laitlyngkot SC.
One goal each was scored by five Mylliem Lum players – Arbun Sing Warjri (12′), Lambor Sing Nongdhar (42′), Eliastar Nongsiej (45’+2), Rapborlang Jana (63′) and Bhakupar Rynjah (70′).
This was Mylliem Lum’s last match of the season. After six games they have 12 points, tied with Nongkrem SC and Jongksha SC but these teams still have games in hand and better head-to-head results, so Mylliem Lum are third in the group.
Later, PFR moved up a place with victory and Lumshyiap’s loss.
They conceded first, though, thanks to a 14th minute goal from Laitlyngkot’s Melambha Shabong but equalised just five minutes later through Endy Suting. Shanbor Thangkhiew (77′) then produced the winner for PFR in the second half.
