Shillong, Dec 4: After a stumbling start to the I-League 2024-25 season, Shillong Lajong FC will host Inter Kashi in a third round match in the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here tomorrow. Kick-off will be at 7PM.
Lajong drew with Churchill Brothers before losing to Dempo, so have only 1 point to show from the first two games. Inter Kashi, on the other hand, have won both of their matches so far, 1-0 against SC Bengaluru and 5-1 over Delhi FC, both at home, so this will be their first away game of the season.
SLFC are currently ninth in the standings while Inter Kashi are third. Although their opponents are riding high, Lajong desperately need to make home advantage count and pick up 3 points.
Despite the scoreline, Lajong had the bulk of the chances against Dempo, with several near-misses and good goalkeeping from the opposition denying them on multiple occasions and they need to find a way to convert these into goals.
In the pre-match press conference held earlier today, Lajong coach, Jose Carlos Rodríguez Hevia said that his boys have trained well, are aware of their responsibilities and are prepared for the hugely important match tomorrow.
