Shillong, Dec 31: The Smit Area Sports Association’s 1st Football League Tournament 2024 came to an end yesterday with Umphrup SC victorious 2-0 over Smit Lumkynsai in the final.
Sohryngkham SC finished in third by beating Umiew Maw U Sam SC 3-2 in the playoff.
Banteidor Lyngdoh MLA and Meghalaya Football Association President Hamletson Dohling, as well as members of the Smit Dorbar Shnong were among the dignitaries present.
The Player of the Final was Nangskhemlang Wahlang of Umphrup. Other individual awards were also handed out during the prize distribution ceremony. The Top Scorer award went to Bannangkiew Khriam of Umphrup, while Wansiewdor Nengnong of Lumkynsai was the Player of the Tournament. Lumkynsai’s Pynksan Nongdhar was the Best Goalkeeper.
The Player of the Match in the third place playoff was Hame Nongkhlaw of Umiew Maw U Sam.
