Seng Samla Mawmluh Smit football: Meghalaya Police edge Nongrim Hills out for place in semis

Shillong, Jan 30: Meghalaya Police defeated Nongrim Hills SC 1-0 in the quarterfinal of the 1st Invitational Football Knockout Tournament 2024-2025, organised by the Seng Samla Mawmluh Smit, yesterday.

The thrilling game saw both sides fairly evenly matched, with only one goal, scored by MLP’s Mildrin Sangma in the 52nd minute, separating them.

Lenny Paul Kurbah of Nongrim Hills was named Player of the Match and received his award from the Rangbah Dong of Nongmadan, Felix Khonglam.

This was the fourth and last of the quarterfinals. The first semifinal will be played on 6th February between Ehrngiew FC against Meghalaya Police, with the second semifinal scheduled for 14th February between Nongtraw Wahlong FC and YBSC Shella.

The victors from those two matches will meet in the final on 22nd February.
